The Type V buckle is exclusive to Gruppo Gamma, and the 22mm buckles can be used on Gruppo Gamma straps that are 24/22mm or 22/22mm in width.
The reason for the "V" is that the buckles were first designed and created for our Vanguard collection, which was introduced in 2014. Watches we produced prior to that had generic "pre-V" buckles.
Over the years the Type V buckle has undergone minor design enhancements.
